Young Girl Wins San Benito Abad Festival Title
Triana Déniz has been crowned the Romera Infantil of the 2026 San Benito Abad Festival. Dressed in traditional Tenerife attire and representing the Rocío Festival, she was selected from 16 contestants at the selection gala held on Sunday afternoon at the Teatro Leal.
Joining her in the honour court are Attenya Chinea, Sara Adriana Pérez, Alyson Rosell, and Marina Chávez. The adult Romera’s court features Rosa María Fragoso, Elsa Amada Fernández, Jacqueline Sinisterra, and Candelaria Delgado.
The event also included the VIII Memorial Pedro Molina, which paid tribute to José Manuel Izquierdo de la Cruz, known as ‘Tato’. Journalist Alexis Hernández hosted the gala, which featured performances from the Asociación Músico-Cultural Minfaya, including soloists Alejandro Díaz, Besay Díaz, and Leirem Ramos, as well as dancers from the Escuela Infantil Princesa Iraya and the Agrupación Los Benahoare from La Palma, featuring soloists Miriam Reyes and Virginia Rodríguez.
