
Police Arrest Woman for Attempting to Smuggle Drugs into Tenerife Juvenile Centre
Agentes del Cuerpo General de la Policía Canaria have arrested and are investigating a 36-year-old woman as a suspected author of an offence against public health after she attempted to smuggle seven grams of hashish into the Valle Tabares juvenile centre in Tenerife.
Details of the Incident
According to information released by the Canary Islands Police on Thursday, the woman concealed the substance within her body and allegedly intended to deliver it to a relative currently residing in the centre.
Police Operation
The police operation commenced following reports regarding a potential drug introduction into the facility. Based on this intelligence, a joint operation was coordinated between the Autonomous Police and the juvenile centre to verify the claims.
The operation resulted in the seizure of the seven grams of hashish and the woman’s subsequent arrest and investigation for an alleged offence against public health.
Collaborative Efforts
The intervention also involved the Canine Unit of the Cuerpo General de la Policía Canaria, which assisted in the execution of the operation.
This action is part of an ongoing collaboration between the Ministry of Social Welfare and the Canary Islands Police aimed at enhancing security in the juvenile centres throughout the Canary Islands.
