Strong winds and poor sea conditions will issue a yellow warning for Tenerife on Thursday, 4 June, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). A similar situation is expected in Gran Canaria, while the other western islands and Lanzarote will be under yellow warnings due to wind only.
Specifically, maximum gusts of 70 kilometres per hour are expected. Winds from the northeast will affect the peaks and the southeast slopes of the mountainous islands. This will also include the northwest slopes in La Palma, La Gomera, and Gran Canaria, as well as the far west of El Hierro and Tenerife, where local gusts may exceed 80 kilometres per hour.
Regarding the sea, forecasts indicate winds from the northeast of 50 to 61 kilometres per hour (force 7) in the channel between Tenerife and Gran Canaria, and in the southeast of Gran Canaria.
Forecast for Tenerife
In Tenerife, the forecast predicts cloudy intervals in the north below 800-1000 metres, with extensive clearings during the afternoon, except in the lower areas of the northeast where overcast skies will prevail with possible drizzle in the early morning and especially at dusk. In other areas, expect few clouds or clear skies.
Minimum temperatures will change little, with maximums slightly increasing, potentially reaching 30ºC in the southern coastal areas of the metropolitan area.

Winds from the northeast will be moderate, with strong intervals in exposed areas of the peaks, southeast slopes, and far west, where very strong gusts of up to 70 km/h are expected, potentially exceeding 80 km/h locally. Very strong gusts are not ruled out on the southern slopes of the metropolitan area.
General Forecast
For the entire archipelago, cloudy skies are expected in the north of the islands, clearing somewhat during the afternoon, with possible drizzle in the northern mountainous islands in the early morning and especially at dusk. The rest of the areas are likely to be mostly clear or clear.
Maximum temperatures will show little change in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, with a slight to moderate rise expected in the rest of the islands. Winds from the northeast will be moderate to strong, with very strong gusts likely on the peaks and northwest and southeast slopes of the mountainous islands, as well as the southern slope of Lanzarote. Locally, gusts may exceed 80 km/h in La Palma, La Gomera, Tenerife, and Gran Canaria.
