Adverse Weather Disrupts Flights at Tenerife North Airport
Adverse weather conditions surrounding Tenerife North Airport have resulted in the cancellation of a flight from El Hierro’s Valverde Airport, as reported by Europa Press.
This cancellation adds to the five flights already diverted from Sevilla, Madrid, Lanzarote, La Palma, and Gran Canaria to Tenerife South Airport.
What to Do?
If you have a flight scheduled on a day of inclement weather, both Aena and airlines recommend checking the flight status before heading to the airport. Typically, you can check directly through the airline’s app to see if the flight is on time, delayed, or has been cancelled.
Forecast for Thursday
For Thursday, strong winds are expected to continue affecting the northern region of Tenerife, which will remain under a yellow alert due to this phenomenon. Consequently, if you have a flight scheduled, you should stay updated on its status. Specifically, gusts of up to 70 kilometres per hour are anticipated, originating from the northeast and impacting the peaks and southeast slopes of the mountainous islands.
