The Puerto de la Cruz Council has completed a safety upgrade at the fishing dock, a site buzzing with activity during the annual July festivities. This project, costing approximately €50,000, was timed ahead of the much-anticipated maritime and land procession honouring Our Lady of Carmen, scheduled for 14 July.

The upgrade has improved the overall condition of the dock, ensuring it is safe for locals, visitors, and participants during peak events. The work included repairs to the protective wall, which is particularly vulnerable due to its marine environment.

Alongside safety enhancements, the council also modernised the dock’s signage, a feature that highlights the town’s maritime heritage and festive spirit. This initiative is part of the municipality’s ongoing commitment to enhance the coastal areas in preparation for the July celebrations.
