Canary Islands to Experience Mild Relief from Heat
The Canary Islands are set for a slight drop in temperatures today, although some areas will still feel quite warm. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicts maximum temperatures will generally not exceed 32°C, with some regions in southern Tenerife and the midlands of Gran Canaria possibly reaching above 30°C.
Today’s weather will be characterised by low cloud cover in the northern islands, with light drizzle expected in the midlands of Tenerife, Gran Canaria, and La Gomera during the early morning. The rest of the archipelago will enjoy mostly clear skies.
Winds will come from the north at a moderate intensity, with strong gusts anticipated during the early hours in exposed areas of Tenerife, Gran Canaria, La Gomera, La Palma, and El Hierro.
Offshore, there will be choppy waters, with swells from the north measuring between one and two metres.
Forecasted Temperatures in the Canary Islands
Maximum temperatures will range from 20°C in Valverde (El Hierro) to 30°C in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Arrecife. In the warmer parts of southern Tenerife and Gran Canaria, temperatures may still reach between 30°C and 32°C.

- Las Palmas de Gran Canaria: Min 21°C, Max 26°C.
- Arrecife: Min 21°C, Max 30°C.

- Santa Cruz de La Palma: Min 22°C, Max 29°C.
- San Sebastián de La Gomera: Min 22°C, Max 28°C.
- Valverde: Min 16°C, Max 20°C.
