Man Arrested for Drug Possession in Santa Cruz de Tenerife
A 49-year-old man was arrested by local police in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on Wednesday night. The man, identified as J.A.C.C., had been driving a white Seat Ibiza along Salamanca Street with another man as a passenger.
The police intervention was prompted by complaints from residents and local businesses concerned about alcohol and drug use in the area. Officers had set up a static control point as part of routine preventive measures.
The incident occurred around 9 PM when police stopped the vehicle. After checking the identities and documentation of the occupants, police dogs were brought in to assist. One dog indicated a backpack in the car, leading officers to inspect it and discover hashish, marijuana, and prescription medications inside.
The arrested man admitted the drugs belonged to him. Following his arrest, the vehicle was impounded and taken to the municipal vehicle depot before he was transported to police custody to face judicial proceedings.
