Temperatures in the Canary Islands are set to rise, with Santa Cruz de Tenerife expected to reach 30°C and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria around 25°C. Nighttime temperatures will drop to 23°C in Santa Cruz and 22°C in Las Palmas.
The hot spell will bring a mix of high and medium clouds, along with dust from the Sahara at higher altitudes. While much of the archipelago will enjoy clear skies, northern regions can expect increased cloud cover in the early morning and late evening.
In Gran Canaria, some south-eastern, southern, and western areas may exceed 35°C, especially in the Tejeda region. Tenerife may see temperatures rising to between 30°C and 32°C in the midlands and higher areas. Other islands, including Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Gomera, La Palma, and El Hierro, can also anticipate high temperatures nearing 30°C in their interior and midland regions.
The trade winds will blow moderately to strongly, particularly affecting the south-eastern and north-western coasts of several islands, with gusts possibly surpassing 80kph in specific areas. At sea, north-easterly to easterly winds are expected to reach force 5 to 6, with localised gusts potentially reaching force 7, leading to rough sea conditions with swells up to 2 metres.
Overall, the day will be hot and breezy across much of the Canary Islands.
