The spokesperson for the Socialist municipal group, Florentino Guzmán, will present a motion at the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council meeting on Friday. The aim is to request the reclassification of the Las Huertas plot, located behind the former San Andrés military battery, to allocate it for new social-health, assistance, green spaces, and rotational parking purposes.
Guzmán explained that “this land, adjacent to Las Teresitas beach, is designated for hotel use, whereas the Anaga district is experiencing a critical and structural deficit in healthcare infrastructure, as residents have long reported.”
Next Steps
Consequently, the PSOE is urging the City Council to commence the procedures necessary to amend the General Urban Planning Plan. They also call for the Urban Planning Department to prepare, within six months, the technical study and justification report to support this modification.
