Man Arrested for Beach Thefts in Tenerife

Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 23 June – Police have arrested a man suspected of multiple thefts at Las Teresitas beach, recovering numerous stolen items in the process.

The arrest occurred when officers from the Canarian Police’s Prevention and Intervention Unit were alerted by a victim who had tracked their stolen mobile phone using GPS. The police set up a search operation that led to the quick identification of the suspect.

Upon searching his belongings, they found various items confirmed to be stolen, including mobile phones and personal effects belonging to other victims who had reported thefts at the beach.

Officers successfully returned some belongings to their rightful owners. Additionally, it was discovered that one of the stolen bank cards had been used in an attempt to make a fraudulent purchase at a local shop.

The remaining recovered items are currently held by police until they can be returned to their owners. The investigation is ongoing to determine if the suspect is connected to any other similar crimes.
