LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA, 19 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The National Police are investigating the sole director of a company and the general manager, as well as identifying three other individuals, for their involvement in an alleged fraud at aesthetic treatment and laser hair removal clinics, affecting 172 people in the islands of Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
Investigation Overview
According to information from the Superior Police Headquarters of the Canary Islands, the investigation commenced in October 2025 following a complaint from a client who had booked various treatments at an aesthetic clinic in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, which closed abruptly shortly thereafter without providing services.
This initial complaint was soon joined by numerous claims from other clients, enabling investigators to identify a common pattern across the archipelago.
Continuing Operations Amid Financial Difficulties
Police inquiries revealed that the individuals in charge of the company continued to offer, sell, and charge for beauty and laser hair removal treatments despite being aware of the precarious financial situation and their inability to render the services.
The investigation found that the company had ongoing unpaid rent and salaries while still attracting new clients and generating income.
Impact on Clients
As a result, dozens of customers paid in advance or financed treatments they never received, with at least 40 affected individuals not having enjoyed any sessions.
The investigation concluded with the indictment of the sole administrator of the company and the general manager, both aged between 40 and 50, along with the identification of three other individuals for their alleged involvement in the matter.
Case Transition to National Court
The National Police indicated that due to the large number of victims, the existence of numerous companies connected to the same administrator, and the potential impact across various parts of the country, the case has now been transferred to the National Court’s jurisdiction.
