Local police in Santa Cruz de Tenerife recovered five designer handbags on Wednesday, reportedly stolen the previous day from a luxury goods store in the Tenerife capital.
The recovered items are valued at €9,750, and an investigation had already been initiated following the reported theft from the establishment.
Local officers were carrying out their routine duties when they were alerted to a bag hidden in a landscaped area of the city. This notification came from a security guard of a private company. Inside the bag were the aforementioned handbags, tampered security tags, and a sports cap.
All these items were taken to the Lost Property department of the Santa Cruz police for examination, where it was found that they were new, unused, and even had price tags from the store.
Upon contacting the store management and the National Police, it was confirmed that a break-in had occurred at the premises earlier that morning.
The store managers identified the handbags and provided an inventory detailing their descriptions, which was added to the ongoing investigation and the subsequent report of this burglary.
