Temperatures Set to Rise Across the Canary Islands
This Saturday, the Canary Islands will experience a slight rise in temperatures, particularly in inland areas. According to the Aemet weather forecast, maximum temperatures could reach 32 degrees Celsius in the southern and western highlands of Gran Canaria. In Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, inland and southeastern coastal areas may see temperatures around 30 degrees, while the rest of the islands will experience milder conditions with clearer skies developing throughout the day.
Cloudy Start to the Day
Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will see cloudy intervals along the coasts in the morning, especially in the northern and western regions, but these clouds are expected to clear by midday. Temperatures in both islands will remain stable or rise slightly, with Arrecife forecasted to reach a minimum of 22 degrees and a maximum of 31 degrees, while Puerto del Rosario expects 21 degrees at night and 30 degrees during the day.
Gran Canaria, the Warmest Island
In Gran Canaria, morning clouds will give way to clearer skies. Nightfall will bring back some cloudiness to the north. Maximum temperatures will climb, particularly in inland areas, reaching between 30 and 32 degrees in the southern and western midlands, and at higher altitudes. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is predicted to see temperatures ranging from 22 to 26 degrees.
Tenerife and La Gomera
Tenerife will also have cloudy conditions in the early hours, transitioning to clearer skies later. The maximum temperatures will increase, particularly inland, with Santa Cruz de Tenerife expecting a minimum of 21 degrees and a maximum of 31 degrees. La Gomera will see early morning clouds giving way to clearer conditions, with highs slightly rising to between 22 and 29 degrees in San Sebastián.
La Palma and El Hierro
La Palma will begin the day with coastal clouds, clearing by midday. Maximum temperatures will increase in inland areas while minimums may dip slightly, with Santa Cruz de La Palma anticipating a minimum of 20 degrees and a maximum of 28 degrees. Similarly, El Hierro will have cloudy intervals in the morning, but skies are expected to clear, with temperatures in Valverde ranging from 19 to 26 degrees.
Gentle Winds and Sea Conditions
Winds will generally be light from the northwest, with breezy conditions expected in central areas. Jandía in Fuerteventura could experience moderate winds, especially in the afternoon. Offshore, winds are forecast to blow from the north or northeast at force 3 to 4, shifting to the north or northwest, bringing slight to moderate swells and background surf from the north at one to two metres.
