Orange Weather Alert for Gran Canaria as Temperatures Soar
Gran Canaria will face an orange weather alert on Monday due to extreme heat, with temperatures expected to reach up to 37 degrees Celsius. The alert covers the island’s summits and southern, eastern, and western slopes, particularly impacting areas like Tejeda.
In addition to the high daytime temperatures, night-time lows in affected regions are unlikely to dip below 26 or 27 degrees, potentially heightening the discomfort.
Tenerife and La Gomera will also be on a yellow alert, with predicted highs of 34 degrees. The alert for Tenerife includes the eastern, southern, western, and metropolitan areas, including the capital, and will run from 11:00 to 20:00.
Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will similarly experience yellow alerts, with expected temperatures reaching 34 degrees, especially in their southern interiors.
