Celebration Marks End of Basketball Season at Colegio Buen Consejo La Laguna
The Cajasiete Fundación CB Canarias brought the 2025/2026 basketball season to a close on Saturday with a festive gathering at Colegio Buen Consejo La Laguna. This event marked the first large-scale celebration to bid farewell to the season for the Canary Islands basketball family.
Players from the cantera aurinegra participated alongside the CD ADDIN team, which competed in the Copa Campeones and Liga Sin Límites, and the Santa Cruz ADEIN Tenerife Fundación CB Canarias, who made their debut in the Superliga, the top tier of wheelchair basketball this season.
Throughout the morning, players from various age groups formed mixed teams for matches, utilising four courts, three of which were designated for minibasket. There was also a play area featuring oversized and mini basketball hoops. Families, along with coaches, actively joined in the games, enhancing the sense of community.
As a highlight of the day, departing players—Héctor Dorta, David Acosta, Raúl Arias, Jorge Grima, Mateo Falcón, and Babel Lipasi—were recognised with plaques presented by Santiago Cacho, president of Fundación CB Canarias, and other club officials.
Prior to the awards, club executives expressed gratitude to Sor Presentación Álvarez for the school’s ongoing support, allowing the use of its facilities for training and matches, as outlined in the partnership agreement with CB Canarias. The school also hosts one of CB Canarias’s direct training academies.
The Foundation treated attendees to lunch at the school’s premises, and the gathering concluded in the early afternoon with warm wishes for a happy summer, as players looked forward to wearing the aurinegro colours again next season.
