A Salvamento Marítimo vessel has escorted a small boat to the port of La Restinga after it was spotted about ten miles south of El Hierro. The Civil Guard alerted the Salvamento Marítimo operations centre in Tenerife after detecting the boat via radar.
The maritime controllers dispatched the Salvamar Diphda to the location, and by 2:15 PM local time, they reported sighting the boat half a mile away and began escorting it to port. Authorities confirmed that the number of individuals on board would be counted once on land.
