Record Demand for Medicine at La Laguna University
SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 3 July (Europa Press) – The application period for ordinary degree pre-registration at La Laguna University has concluded, with health science courses again attracting the highest number of applications for the 2026-27 academic year.
Medicine topped the list, receiving 1,491 applications for just 130 places. Following closely was Nursing, with 528 requests for 100 spots, and Psychology, which garnered 491 applications for 200 places. Notably, the Primary Education degree also received 491 applications for 260 slots.
Other popular courses included Law and Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, with 356 and 331 applications, respectively. In total, 8,176 applications were made for 4,967 available places across 57 programmes, including standard and dual degrees, along with courses in Adeje and La Palma.
Candidates can check their admission status online starting Wednesday, with a window for appeals closing the next day at 2 PM. The first allocation list will be published on 13 July, with successful candidates able to enrol from then until 15 July at 11:59 PM.
A second allocation list and a waiting list will be released on 17 July, with enrolment open until 21 July. The waiting list will be processed on 23 and 24 July in two time slots, and enrolment for these places will occur on 27 and 28 July. Any unfilled spots will be announced on 30 July before the extraordinary pre-registration period, set for 26-28 August.
