The Municipal Services of La Laguna have brightened a prominent public space by planting a floral representation of the LGTBIQA+ Pride flag in the gardens surrounding La Concepción. This annual initiative aligns with the upcoming International Pride Day on 28 June, in the square often referred to as Pedro Zerolo.
This year’s display features nearly 700 ornamental plants arranged in the flag’s vibrant colours, transforming the space into a visible symbol of the council’s commitment to equality and diversity.
Fran Hernández, the Councillor for Municipal Services, expressed that this colourful arrangement serves as a reminder of respect, equality, and coexistence. “We want to create a community where everyone can live freely and feel valued,” he said.
Dailos González, the Councillor for Equality and LGTBIQA+, highlighted the significance of this initiative. “This multicoloured corner represents our commitment to diversity and tolerance, welcoming all individuals without exception,” he noted.
The floral display is part of a broader programme designed by the council for Pride month, promoting a message of respect and inclusion across public spaces.
