Major Wins for ‘Anatomía de un instante’ at the Inaugural Anillos de Oro Awards

The series Anatomía de un instante emerged as the standout winner at the first edition of the Anillos de Oro Awards held on Saturday at the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Fairgrounds. Based on the novel by Javier Cercas, the production was the frontrunner with 15 nominations, ultimately taking home 13 awards, including Best Dramatic Fiction Series.
Celebrating Spanish Audiovisual Excellence
The gala brought together prominent professionals from the Spanish audiovisual sector, aiming to become a significant recognition for the series industry. Organised by the Circle of Professionals of Spanish Series, the awards highlighted the best productions, performers, and technical teams from the past year.
Notable awards for Anatomía de un instante included:
- Best Leading Actor: Álvaro Morte
- Best Supporting Actor: Eduard Fernández
- Best Adapted Screenplay: Rafael Cobos, Fran Araújo, and Alberto Rodríguez
Additionally, the series was acknowledged in numerous technical categories such as editing, post-production, digital resources, art direction, production direction, casting, makeup and hairstyling, cinematography, sound, and executive production. The series’ success confirmed expectations for a night that found little competition among over 300 national and international productions vying for recognition.
Other Distinguished Winners
Another prominent name of the night was Carmen Machi, who received the Best Leading Actress award for her role in Celeste. Unfortunately, she was unable to attend the ceremony due to filming the second season of the series. Meanwhile, Carla Quílez was honoured as Best Breakthrough Performer for her work in Yakarta. Poquita Fe won the award for Best Comedy Series, while La vida breve was recognised for its costume design.
In the non-fiction category, Esta ambición desmedida garnered two accolades: Best Documentary Series and Best Music, thanks to the work of C. Tangana. The event was hosted by Elena S. Sánchez, Santi Millán, and Canary Islands comedian Abián Díaz, with performances from Belén Aguilera, Soleá Morente, La Bien Querida, Ale Acosta, and the Tenerife Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Diego Navarro.
A Growing Industry
Throughout the evening, Elena S. Sánchez highlighted the increasing significance of the audiovisual sector, noting that series represent the primary form of entertainment for 65% of Spaniards. She emphasized that the industry produced over 800 hours of entertainment in the past year. Joan Álvarez Valencia, president of the Circle of Professionals of Spanish Series, asserted that we are in a “golden age” of Spanish series, claiming that “series are not just entertainment, but culture as well.”
Honouring Antonio Resines
One of the most heartfelt moments of the night was the presentation of the Honorary Award to Antonio Resines, who received the accolade from his peers. True to his style, the actor joked during his speech, expressing surprise at receiving awards for his long-standing career, quipping, “I’m only halfway through my career, and there’s more Resines to come.”
Thus, the inaugural Anillos de Oro Awards concluded a memorable night, establishing Santa Cruz de Tenerife as a central hub for the Spanish audiovisual sector, with a gala aimed at solidifying the Canary Islands as a prominent showcase for the series industry.
