Reggaeton Beach Festival 2026 Cancelled Amid Financial Difficulties
The Reggaeton Beach Festival (RBF) will not take place this summer. The organisers have officially announced the cancellation of its entire planned tour for 2026, as well as an immediate cessation of operations. This decision effectively nullifies the anticipated musical event in Tenerife, and similarly affects venues in Madrid, Barcelona, Mallorca, Alicante, Santander, and Nigrán.
Consumer Protection Organisations Respond
In light of this situation, consumer associations FACUA and the OCU have stepped in to protect users. Both organisations have warned that affected individuals not only have the right to a refund of ticket prices (including mandatory management fees), but also may claim from the company for any transport and accommodation expenses incurred in advance for attending the event.
Reason for Closure: Financial Viability Issues
The festival’s management made this drastic decision following an internal audit conducted by the new administration of the managing company. According to the official statement released this Thursday, serious economic and operational difficulties were identified: “The operational and financial structure of the company can no longer guarantee the organisation and development of a tour of this scale,” the company stated.
The promoter has publicly acknowledged the “disappointment” and the impact that this cessation of activity will have on both the audience and the artists, suppliers, and local institutions in Tenerife and the other areas involved that were committed to the 2026 edition.
How Should Affected Individuals File Claims?
Both FACUA and the OCU remind that financial claims must be formally directed to the organising company or the official sales platform, which is legally required to establish and inform about a clear and accessible refund procedure.
To increase the chances of a successful claim for “damages” (such as flights, inter-island ferries, hotels, or tourist apartments reserved), the OCU expressly recommends securely keeping all purchase receipts, electronic confirmations of reservations, and any prior communications issued by the festival.
Meanwhile, the organisation of the Reggaeton Beach Festival has indicated that it is managing the contractual and administrative implications of the cancellation and has stated that detailed instructions for proceeding with refunds to the various affected parties will be provided through its official channels and networks in the coming days.
