The upcoming edition of the race will feature several new elements, including a new 68-kilometre category; the extension of the 73k, which will now become 82k, and a new route for the Vertical Night Challenge, spanning 6.5 kilometres, starting from Playa del Socorro.
The Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB®, the mountain race organised by the Cabildo de Tenerife through the public company Ideco, will open the registration process for its 2027 edition on 8th June via its official website. The event, scheduled to take place from 8th to 10th April 2027 across 15 municipalities, will once again be part of the international UTMB® World Series.
Phased Registration Process
The registration will occur in several phases. Initially, priority registration will be granted exclusively to participants who were already registered for the 2026 edition, which was cancelled due to weather conditions. This phase will be open from 8th June at 10:00 until 12th June at 23:00.
Subsequently, registration will open on 17th June at 10:00 for athletes with a valid UTMB® Index. Finally, from 19th June at 10:00, registration will be available to all other participants.
Record Prize Money and Further Developments
The Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB® continues to establish itself as one of the premier mountain races globally. In 2027, it will offer the largest prize fund in its history, totalling €58,700.
As previously mentioned, the upcoming edition will feature a number of innovations, including the new 68-kilometre category, the extension of the 73k to 82k, and a revamped route for the 6.5-kilometre Vertical Night Challenge leaving from Playa del Socorro.
Registration Deadlines and Discounts
Registration will remain open until 10th March 2027 or until all available spots are filled. As in previous years, early registrants will benefit from significant discounts, and an additional 30% reduction will be offered to athletes residing in the Canary Islands.
