Strong gusts of wind will continue to batter Tenerife this Sunday, leading to a poor state of the sea. Both phenomena will once again put the island under a yellow warning this week.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) also forecasts cloudy skies, light drizzles, and a general increase in temperatures, which will range from 21 to 28 degrees.

Overall, very strong occasional gusts are expected on the southeast and northwest slopes of the mountainous islands in the early hours and in the southern face of the metropolitan area during the afternoon. They cannot be ruled out in the southern parts of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.

Forecast from Aemet for the province of Tenerife as reported by EFE.

TENERIFE

Generally, little cloud cover is expected with a predominance of cloudy skies in the north and morning intervals in the south and west. Light drizzles are possible in the northeast during the early hours. Temperatures will rise overall in the summits and in the minimums of the southern midlands, with little change elsewhere. Trade winds will show intervals of strength and a probability of very strong occasional gusts in the eastern slope, the extreme northwest, and the southern face of the metropolitan area. Breezes are expected in the west. In the central summits, light winds from the north will shift to the east in the afternoon.

LA GOMERA

Little cloud cover is expected generally, with cloudy skies in the north. Temperatures are likely to remain stable or rise slightly in the summits. Trade winds will show intervals of strength and probable very strong occasional gusts on the eastern and northwestern slopes, as well as in exposed summits; breezes will be present in the southwest.

Expected minimum and maximum temperatures (°C): San Sebastián de La Gomera 21 26

Expected minimum and maximum temperatures (°C): Santa Cruz de La Palma 19 23

LA PALMA

Little cloud cover with predominantly cloudy skies in the north and east. Light drizzles are probable in the northeast in the early and late hours. Overall, temperatures will rise in the summits with little change elsewhere. Trade winds will show intervals of strength and probable very strong occasional gusts on the southeast and northwest slopes, especially in the afternoon, while breezes will dominate in the west.

Expected minimum and maximum temperatures (°C): Santa Cruz de La Palma 19 23

Expected minimum and maximum temperatures (°C): Valverde 14 18
