SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 5 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Yeremay Hidalgo, with the collection ‘Lágrimas de sal’, has won first prize at the 15th edition of the International Young Designers Competition, which marks the beginning of the Tenerife International Fashion Week (SIMTE).
The decision was made by the competition jury, chaired by the manager of the Insular Craft Company. The award was presented by the president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, and the insular councillor for Employment, Education and Youth, Efraín Medina.
The second prize went to Noé González de la Rosa for his collection ‘ARCHIVE00’. Additionally, the jury declared that the most commercial collection was ‘La Llave del Umbral’ by designer Eva Gómez, as reported by the Cabildo.
The first prize winner received a monetary award of €5,000, while the second prize winner received €3,000. The most commercial collection was awarded €2,000.
The three designers were selected from a total of seven finalists. In addition to the awardees, Ni Luh Desy and Ikadek Dode (Indonesia), Johannes Senior Paz (Venezuela), Leonardo Mena (Mexico), and Yusef González Perdomo (El Hierro) were also recognised, having been selected from over 70 applicants from various parts of the world.
FASHION WEEK
With the announcement of the 15th International Young Designers Competition winners, the Tenerife International Fashion Week 2026 is gearing up for four days of inspiration, innovation, and style. This event positions the island at the centre of the global textile and fashion industry and will run until Sunday, 7 June.
