Falling Debris Incident in Santa Cruz de Tenerife
The collapse of several pieces of masonry from the facade of the El Pilar building, located on San Clemente Street in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, prompted an intervention by the Tenerife Fire Brigade and local police on Friday. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as the debris fell at the entrance of the property.
Emergency Response
Emergency services, including firefighters and officers from the local police of Santa Cruz, were dispatched to secure the area and assess the condition of the building’s facade. Firefighters accessed the upper parts of the building using a hydraulic ladder to inspect the facade thoroughly.
As they descended, they used a hammer to check the stability of the tiles, looking for any loose pieces. Despite the incident occurring in a busy area, there were no reported personal injuries.
Previous Incidents
This is not the first occurrence of falling debris in the area. Last December, pieces of masonry also fell from a balcony of a building on the nearby Puerto Escondido Street.
