Tragic Incident as 42-Year-Old Man Found Dead in Tenerife

Body of man discovered floating off the coast of El Rosario, Tenerife

A 42-year-old man tragically lost his life yesterday afternoon, 4 June, after being found floating in the sea off Boca Cangrejo, located in the municipality of El Rosario, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) 112 of the Canary Islands government.

Incident Details

The incident occurred around 19:20, when 112 received an alert informing them that several people had pulled a man out of the water who was floating face down near the shore.

Emergency Resources Deployed

Upon receiving the alert, CECOES immediately activated various emergency resources. Emergency personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) arrived at the scene, including a basic life support ambulance and a medicalised ambulance.

Members of the Tenerife Fire Consortium, local police officers, and Guardia Civil officials also responded to assist in the operation.

Medical Confirmation of Death

When medical personnel arrived, they found the victim was in cardiac arrest. The SUC teams performed advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation efforts in an attempt to restore his vital signs.

However, despite the professionals’ best efforts, these measures did not succeed, and the man’s death was sadly confirmed at the scene.

Investigation Underway

The Guardia Civil has taken charge of the investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Meanwhile, the Tenerife Fire Consortium continued to collaborate with the other emergency resources mobilised during the response.
