SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 24 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The General Directorate of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands, based on the request of the Cabildo of Tenerife, has decided to lower the emergency of the forest fire on the island to zero level after the improvement in meteorological conditions.
The measure affects the municipalities of Arafo, Güímar, Candelaria, El Rosario, Tacoronte, El Sauzal, La Victoria, La Matanza, Santa Úrsula, La Orotava, Los Realejos and Fasnia.
The Canary Islands Government highlights that the fire remains controlled and the weather conditions are favorable, with an increase in relative humidity and a drop in temperatures, to the point that the heat wave that has affected the Canary Islands since 1 October.
Likewise, during the last week the tail of the storm ‘Bernard’ has left rain in the emergency areas that have helped the extinction efforts.
