SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 21 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife has held an act to honor the 105 workers who have retired since 2022, coming from the different areas of the Island Corporation and the entities that are part of the island public sector.
The event, which took place in the Tenerife Auditorium, was attended by the insular president, Pedro Martín; the First Vice President and Minister of Roads, Mobility, Innovation and Culture; Enrique Arriaga; the second vice president and counselor for the Presidency, Finance and Modernization, Berta Pérez; and the third vice president and counselor for Social Action, Marián Franquet. Along with them, the insular director of Human Resources and Legal Advice, Lidia Pereira, responsible for organizing the act, also participated.
Pedro Martín thanked the retired staff for the professionalism and commitment shown throughout their professional career to provide the best possible service to the public and highlighted the different projects and improvements introduced by the current government team.
“In these four years of work we have managed to approve the Human Resources Strategy, through a participatory process in which more than half a thousand workers were involved, and we have been pioneers in the Canary Islands, not only in the design of the stabilization processes of our temporary staff, but in the promotion of teleworking, conditional on meeting objectives,” he added.
Along the same lines, Berta Pérez assured that the human value and talent that characterizes the staff of the Cabildo de Tenerife “is difficult to find”. “We are aware that they are the main asset of this Corporation to continue providing a quality service to citizens, which is why one of the priorities that we set ourselves at the beginning of the mandate was to promote projects to favor their work environment, organization, motivation and training,” he added.
For her part, Marián Franquet highlighted “the involvement and dedication of the 60 workers of the Island Institute of Social and Socio-Health Care (IASS) who have participated in the event, and who throughout their professional career have been in charge of giving the best care for the most needy people on the island”.
Among the honorees are also 40 direct employees of the Cabildo de Tenerife, as well as workers from the Autonomous Organization of Museums and Centers, Balsas de Tenerife (Balten), the Island Music Board and the Island Water Council.
