SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 14 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo of Tenerife, through the Tenerife Science and Technology Park (PCTT), organizes ‘Hub Intech Tenerife’, a leading event in the island’s innovative ecosystem that will bring together 300 companies on November 17 and 18 to analyze the situation of the creative industry in the Canary Islands and will serve as a link between talent and investors.
The presentation event was attended by the president of the Tenerife Cabildo, Rosa Dávila; the Minister of Innovation, Research and Development, Juan José Martínez; the director of the Omnia group, Carlos Rodríguez; and the representative of the Binary Systems company, Orlando Bello.
Rosa Dávila indicated that “the Cabildo of Tenerife has among its objectives to position the island as a top-level destination and technological enclave, promoting local talent and promoting the professional ecosystem in the innovation and technology sector.”
For this reason, he indicated that they are betting on this type of event “where 300 Canarian companies will be with the 30 global technology giants, which will make it possible to position Tenerife as a top-level destination and technological enclave and enhance local talent and promote professional ecosystem in the gaming industry on the island.”
Juan José Martínez indicated that ‘Hub Intech Tenerife’ is made up of the Innovation Forum, the Innovation Observatory and the Investment Forum with which the aim is to promote the innovation sector on the island.
“Specifically, in the Investment Forum we will have 10 startups that will be able to access financing to develop their projects,” he noted.
Likewise, Martínez assured that the event has aroused enormous interest and that they are already working for the next edition due to the “great demand” they have had.
“Our intention is for it to grow in the coming years and be among the most important nationally and internationally,” he noted.
A “UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY”
For his part, Orlando Bello thanked the Cabildo and the Tenerife Science and Technology Park for their efforts in holding an event in which the most important international technology companies will be represented.
“These are steps that we are taking to place Tenerife on the map of innovation and technology events. It is a unique opportunity in which more than 300 companies will be able to interact with these technological giants,” he said.
Carlos Rodríguez indicated that the speakers and experts who will meet at ‘Hub Intech Tenerife’ “will talk about such important topics as the transformation and robotization of life, to cite an example.”
In his opinion, “they are top-level people who will allow us to be aware of what is happening at the moment in terms of technology and innovation and what is going to happen in the future, it is a great opportunity for Tenerife to position within this type of events”.
‘Hub Intech Tenerife’ will feature the participation of different experts, including the head of the information technology research consultancy Gartner, Jordi Escalé; the CEO of the Professional Video Game League of the Media Pro Group, Jordi Soler; and the consultant, businessman and former soccer player and coach, Jorge Valdano, among other speakers.
The Innovation Forum (FI2) aims to promote innovative culture and rapprochement between the scientific community and the productive fabric, as well as networking activities between participants in order to establish synergies that foster relationships between potential partners. collaboration for the development of innovative projects.
INNOVATION OBSERVATORY
The Innovation Observatory advocates having an analysis and prospective tool for public innovation policies in order to improve the instruments for promoting business innovation and training in the Canary Islands, a region characterized by its service economy and the predominance of microenterprises, with special emphasis on the role of universities, and social groups.
Likewise, the Investment Forum was born as a network of investors and business community created from the Tenerife Science and Technology Park with the interest of investing in technology-based business projects – startups – of a global nature.
The PCTT acts as a means of contact between potential investment agents and entrepreneurs interested in seeking financing and managing their growth, offering the investor network an updated portfolio of startups with the best investment proposals.
The Investment Preparation Program (PPI) is a consolidated initiative on the island and a reference at the regional level for those entrepreneurs and SMEs who wish to mature their business projects and seek investment.
In 2019, the tenth edition of the Entrepreneurship and Investment Forum took place, which, in previous editions, has reached 2.5 million euros in investment and has brought together more than 200 emerging companies in search of training and investors.
