Arte Joven will celebrate its XXIII edition on the 16th, between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., with the format in force until the pandemic and in the surroundings formed by the City Council, Carrera Escultor Estévez street, the Puente area, Canarias Avenue and Plaza de la Constitución. The mayor, Francisco Linares, appreciates that it has been consolidated and maintained with the philosophy that young people have a scenic space for one day in which to show their art and their work, converted into the true protagonists.
Darío Afonso, Councilor for Culture, underlines that Arte Joven en la Calle will bring together more than 500 young artists who will show their works or participate in multiple disciplines. It will feature musical performances, dance, dancing, theater, storytelling, statuary, mimes, magic… There will be workshops on virtual reality, body percussion, painting, crafts, modeling, balloon twisting or break dancing, among others. There will also be painting and photography exhibitions, on-site graffiti, outdoor painting and dance competitions, the battle of the roosters and inclusive theater. It will have 35 illustrators who will have their space to show and sell their work. The different educational centers of the municipality will participate by making a work that will be exhibited in young art.
The mayor and the mayor of Youth appreciate the participation of young people, municipal schools and groups involved, while encouraging the general public to enjoy this recreational-cultural event by which the arts conquer the town.
