Italian National Arrested in Tenerife for Falsifying Documents and Facing Legal Action for Traffic Safety Violation

The National Police in Santa Cruz de Tenerife have detained an Italian individual for the falsification of documents and a pending legal case filed by an Arona court for a violation of traffic safety regulations.

The police action was triggered by a notification from the Las Palmas Employment Office regarding an Italian citizen suspected of submitting potentially altered or tampered documentation for various procedures with the governmental organisation in the Canary Islands.

To validate the authenticity of the identity document in question, officers from the National Police visited the Employment Office premises in a southern Tenerife town where the individual was summoned to complete an administrative process.

Upon arrival, the police requested the Italian citizen’s ID and sought an expert opinion from a specialised police unit, which concluded that the document displayed indications of being falsified.

Following the verification of the individual’s identity, it was discovered that there was an outstanding warrant for a traffic safety violation linked to the person in police records, leading to their immediate arrest on charges of document forgery and traffic safety infringement. Consequently, the individual was handed over to the relevant judicial authorities.
