The adviser of the Popular Party (PP) in the Council of TenerifeValentín González Évora, announces that his formation will seek the support of all political forces so that the insular institution approves, during the next Plenary Commission of the Primary Sector, a initiative for the Cabildo to cede the facilities of the old Teisol company to the Santa Úrsula City Council, so that “from the local administration this space is made available to the needs of the primary sector of this area of the Island”.
This was confirmed by González Évora during a visit to the place together with the councilor of the Popular Party in the Santa Úrsula City Council, Eduardo Suárez, in order to learn first-hand about the situation of these facilities that housed a public company of the Cabildo, which finally had to be closed. It is a space with a surface area of 15,000 square metres, of which more than 7,000 have buildings, which are currently “empty and abandoned”.
The PP’s proposal focuses on the Cabildo, owner of these facilities, cede them in part or in full to the City Council of Santa Úrsula, so that the local administration can take advantage of all this space “to value the local product, as a measure to boost the primary sector”.
“From the local level, they convey to us the concern that exists among local producers to be able to use these facilities to exhibit and sell their product, or even to have an adequate physical space to carry out administrative actions or enable it, in coordination with public administrations, in an environment for the organization of events and exhibition and sales fairs”, assured González.
To be in tune with the demands of local producers, the Popular Party will ask the Cabildo to prepare a study on the state of the warehouses and the possible uses and activities that these facilities may host, reported the political party.
