The City Council of La Victoria de Acentejo has undertaken with its own resources the improvement of the three public schools in the municipality, with the aim that the work is completed before the return of the students to the classrooms. The investment in the conditioning of the teaching centers exceeds 40,000 euros.
In order for the schools to be in the best conditions for the start of the new school year, the City Council of La Victoria launched a few weeks ago these works of reform, expansion and improvement (RAM) of the three teaching centers of the municipality: the CEO Príncipe Felipe and the CEIP Los Bajos and Santo Domingo.
The Victorian mayor, Juan Antonio García Abreu (PSOE), underlines that “the investment has doubled with respect to what had been allocated to RAM works in the last decade”, and adds that “the safety and accessibility of our centers Educational issues are priority issues, as are their conditioning and updating, since these are buildings that are over 40 years old. We understand that it is necessary to make a greater investment effort to renew and adapt infrastructures, which in many cases have become obsolete.
The works, which have a total duration of three weeks, foresee the improvement of the entrance of CEIP Los Bajos, where an area for the library will also be created and the roof will be waterproofed. At CEIP Santo Domingo, the roof is repaired and the pipes are replaced on the entire first floor, as well as the kitchen and the center’s management office are reformed. The CEO Príncipe Felipe undertakes the arrangement of the stairs and access to the playground, the conditioning of the exterior of the dining room and the repair of the entire court, including the railings. The three schools are also going to undertake painting work. For the prioritization of the actions, the City Council had the collaboration of the educational communities of the centers.
