The Governing Board of Santa Cruz authorized yesterday the spending of 2.2 million for the execution of five new playgrounds that will have dinosaurs, airplanes or the sea as protagonists. These five spaces (three in Ofra-Costa Sur, one in Salud-La Salle and one in El Sobradillo), have been divided into two lots, so that once the expense is authorized, they can already be put out to tender. Specifically in Lot I, the first of the parks is called Mercado II, which will be installed in the vicinity of La Revoca, and will cost 222,608 euros, with an execution period of four months. The theme of this space will be that of airports.
The second space is located in Tío Pino, with climbing jumps as the main reason, it has a budget of 358,538 euros, and an execution time of five months. The last playground in this lot is from Chimisay, the cost exceeds 552,000 euros, and it also has a running time of about five months, here the dinosaurs will be the protagonists. The sum of these three parks is 1,133,212.72 euros. The second lot is made up of two other playgrounds. This is the one that will be located in Cuchillitos de Tristán, with a budget of 760,000 euros, and four months of works, which will be distributed over two levels with varied themes. The second is the one located in the Chaorra Volcano, with a budget of just over 320,000 euros, and another four months of execution, and the sea will be the protagonist. This lot 2 has a total cost of 1,084,740.24 euros.
“In March of this year we presented the projects for seven large playgrounds in the municipality and today we have allocated a budget for the first five. It is about continuing to promote infrastructure and equipment in the neighborhoods of the capital to guarantee that residents enjoy services regardless of their place of residence”, recalled the acting mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez.
For his part, the acting Councilor for Public Services, Carlos Tarife, pointed out that “the City Council is providing each of the five districts with playgrounds with play spaces that incorporate accessible elements that allow the interaction of all children so that any child can play, interact and have a good time without any problem”. And he added that “we must value the considerable increase in the amount invested by the current government group.”
