The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council will open applications on Monday for the design competition of the city’s 2027 Carnival poster and branding, themed “Eternal Rome: The Empire of Carnival.”
Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez explained that the public competition aims to promote local talent in showcasing the city’s most international festival.
Bermúdez noted the high quality of artistic works produced in previous competitions.
The process will unfold in three phases, beginning with a submission period for participants from June 29 to July 29.
Detailed rules can be found at carnavaldetenerife.com, and all entries must be submitted electronically.
After submissions close, an evaluation committee will select five finalists. These finalists will have 30 days to develop a complete visual representation of the Carnival 2027 based on their initial designs.
The final phase will last seven days, during which the public can vote for their favourite project.
The overall winner will receive a prize of €12,000, while each finalist will receive €1,000.
