New Funding for Arona’s Commerce
The Economic Promotion, Primary Sector and Employment Area has approved a new edition of the programme Bono Comercio Arona 2026. This initiative aims to stimulate consumption in local businesses, strengthen the local economy, and support small and medium enterprises.
Investment and Benefits
To achieve this, the council will allocate an investment of €461,400, which will enable the mobilization of up to €1 million in purchases at participating stores. The programme will be managed by the Federation of Urban Areas of the Canary Islands (Fauca). Consumers will be able to purchase vouchers worth €20 by paying only half the price, as the remaining €10 will be covered by the Arona City Council.
Each adult will be able to acquire a maximum of 12 vouchers linked to their ID or NIE through ‘www.yocomproenarona.com’. The sale of the vouchers will commence on Tuesday, 7 July at 12:00 PM and will remain available until 31 December 2026, subject to availability.
Registration Period
The registration period for businesses interested in participating in the campaign opens today. Eligible participants include self-employed individuals, micro-enterprises, and small and medium-sized businesses in the commerce sector located in Arona. This includes retail shops, food establishments, hairdressers, and beauty centres, among others. Each participating establishment will have a maximum voucher redemption limit of €6,000 throughout the campaign, promoting a balanced distribution of funds amongst the participating businesses.
Impact on Local Economy
With this initiative, the municipal corporation aims to create a direct impact on the revenue of local businesses, supporting the maintenance and strengthening of the local business fabric and stimulating spending within the municipality. Furthermore, beyond its economic dimension, the programme also contributes to enhancing social cohesion and a sense of belonging among citizens with their commercial environment, while promoting the redistribution of spending within the municipality and energising the local economy.
The Mayor of Arona, Fátima Lemes Reverón, emphasised that “the Commerce Vouchers have become an important tool to support our traders.”
