Canary Islands to Enjoy Stable Weather This Sunday

The Canary Islands will kick off this Sunday with stable weather and pleasant temperatures. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) anticipates largely clear or cloudless skies across most of the archipelago. However, clouds will linger in the northern regions of the more mountainous islands during the early hours.
Weather Conditions in Tenerife
In Tenerife, the day has started with cloudy intervals in the north at elevations below 700 to 800 metres. Nevertheless, as the morning progresses, clearer spells will emerge, and sunshine will dominate much of the island. Elsewhere, predominantly clear skies prevail, with some morning clouds on the southern and western slopes.
Temperatures will remain relatively unchanged, although maxima may rise slightly in inland areas. In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, temperatures are expected to range between 20 and 28 degrees, with higher values possible in some mid-altitude areas.
Gran Canaria’s Outlook
Conditions will be similar across the rest of the archipelago. In Gran Canaria, the north starts off cloudy, but clearer conditions will take shape during the midday hours. Additionally, temperatures may locally exceed 30 degrees in southern, western, and eastern mid-altitude areas.
In both Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, predominantly clear or cloudless skies are expected, with some clouds lingering in the north during early hours. Maximum temperatures will reach 28 degrees in Lanzarote and 27 degrees in Fuerteventura.
Meanwhile, La Gomera, La Palma, and El Hierro will maintain similar conditions, with low cloud cover in the north during the morning and extensive sunshine in the remaining areas.
Strong Winds Expected Later
During the initial hours of the day, winds will blow lightly or moderately from the northeast. However, Aemet forecasts that these winds will strengthen by the afternoon, with strong gusts expected in exposed areas of Tenerife and other mountainous islands.
At sea, northeast winds will create slight to moderate waves, while the southern and southwestern coasts will experience calmer conditions due to sea breezes.
The forecast indicates a Sunday morning characterised by stability, mild conditions, and increasing sunshine across much of the Canary Islands.
