Maintenance Works Impacting Tram Routes in Santa Cruz
From Sunday, June 14, until June 23, maintenance works on the tram tracks will necessitate changes to traffic flow at the guided roundabout located at the junction of Avenida Ángel Romero and Calle Alcalde Mandillo Tejera in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
According to the local council, the restrictions will commence at 07:00 and will not affect tram services or urban transport provided by Titsa, which will “maintain their usual schedules, routes, and stops.”
Traffic Changes
During this period, the circular traffic at the roundabout will be suspended, preventing any turns at this location. Furthermore, traffic will be prohibited in the left lane, although vehicles will still be able to use the area as “the right lane in the ascending direction and one lane in the descending direction will remain open,” officials noted.
As alternatives for directional changes, the council recommends using the 29 de Mayo roundabout at the junction of Avenida Islas Canarias and Avenida de Bélgica, as well as the point on Avenida Ángel Romero adjacent to the Santa Cruz-La Laguna highway, near the beginning of Calle Pedro Suárez Hernández.
Phase Three of Maintenance Works
This work is part of the third phase of tram track maintenance being carried out by Metrotenerife in the municipality. The works began on April 19 in the Puente Zurita area and subsequently moved to Cruz del Señor. The local council is coordinating these changes with Metrotenerife and the Local Police.
