SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 16th March (EUROPA PRESS) –

Today, on Saturday, Miriam Vega has emerged as the newly elected president of NNGG in the Canary Islands during the 10th Autonomous Congress of New Generations, leading the sole presented candidacy. Assuming the role from the outgoing president, Alejandro Sánchez, who has presided over the youth of the PP of the Canary Islands since November 2017, Miriam Vega now leads NNGG in the region.

Following her appointment as president, Miriam Vega expressed her gratitude for spearheading “a thrilling project that must represent the voice of young people in the Canary Islands.” Additionally, she made a commitment to “establishing a more robust, diverse, and unified New Generations – a close-knit, beneficial, and inclusive organization.”

The event, held at the Fairgrounds in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, saw the participation of the general secretary of the PP of the Canary Islands, Poli Suárez; the national president of New Generations, Beatriz Fanjul; the president of the Tenerife organization, Carla Guerrero, and the president of the PP of the Canary Islands, Manuel Domínguez.

Beatriz Fanjul celebrated the rising of “the sun in the Canary Islands” after 14 years, alluding to the PP’s presence in the new regional Government structure. She emphasised the importance of leading the youth organization with a service-oriented and public-spirited approach to address the general issues faced by young people and tackle new challenges on their behalf.

Manuel Domínguez underlined the “dedication” and zeal displayed by Miriam Vega and her new board members, urging them to “be the voice for all young people in the Canary Islands.” He stated, “Our commitment is to the entirety of the youth in the Archipelago, and to fulfil this, we have an exceptional team that will help in finding solutions and contributing to addressing the harsh realities faced by our youth.”

Miriam Vega holds degrees in Business Administration and Management, as well as Law, and has been associated with the organisation since 2020, previously serving as the Deputy Secretary of Economic Development.
