SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 22 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo of Tenerife ratifies the continuity of the Psychological Intervention Program in Rare Diseases thanks to a collaboration agreement between the island institution and the Official College of Psychologists of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The Minister of Social Action, Águeda Fumero, held a working meeting with the president of the College of Psychologists of Tenerife, Carmen Linares, during which they addressed details related to this program, which is aimed at people who suffer from rare and chronic diseases and their families and caregivers.
This program is integrated into the Insular Ring of Social Policies, through which the IASS works to consolidate a social support network, through direct collaboration with third sector entities, to provide an effective response to the needs of citizens.
Minister Águeda Fumero stressed, during the meeting, that “the government group values policies to promote mental health in society as priorities for this mandate, guaranteeing tools that help, in a special way, in aspects related to prevention”.
The counselor also announced that “the objective of the Cabildo is to expand collaboration projects to reduce the incidence of psychological disorders, as well as promote subsequent recovery.”
Águeda Fumero thanked the Official College of Psychologists of Tenerife “for the important voluntary work they carried out during the emergency caused by the fire that broke out in Tenerife on August 15.”
