The Granadilla City Council reported this Thursday that they have been rescued 182 Cory’s Shearwater chicks who were transferred to the center of wildlife recovery La Tahonilla, where expert veterinarians will monitor its evolution until its complete recovery and release.
This initiative, whose objective is the safeguarding of the injured chicks in their first flight of the emblematic Canarian seabirdbegan on October 23 and lasted until last Sunday, November 19, details the City Council in a statement.
The Granadilla Civil Protection Group offered its base as a collection place in the south of Tenerifetaking charge of the collections and transfers of the municipalities of San Miguel, Granadilla and Aricorecovering a total of 182 shearwater chicks, a gray heron and an injured turtledove chick.
