The mayor of Santa CruzJosé Manuel Bermúdez, accompanied by the councilor of the Southwest, Javier Rivero, held a neighborhood meeting last Wednesday to present the actions included in the Southwest Avanza investment program, which is completing its first 36 months of the commitment acquired and signed, “with a set of initiatives to which, for the moment, eight million euros have been allocated,” Bermúdez advanced.
For his part, the councilor also presented the new proposals of Suroeste Avanza, such as “the renovation of the Tíncer, Barranco Grande, Llano del Moro, Añaza and El Sobradillo soccer fields” and “the necessary and highly demanded renovation of the central promenade of Los Majuelos avenue or the extension of tram line 2; in addition to urbanizing the El Tablero and El Sobradillo roads, the resumption of work on the Ofra-El Chorrillo road and a new package to repave 35 new roads that will be part of the asphalting plan.”
Likewise, he reported “on the investment situation of other administrations, related to centers for the care of people with disabilities, the Cuevas Blancas Scientific and Technological Park, or the validation of the proposal to create an urban park in Barranco Grande.” He detailed the projects that have seen the Southwest as the ideal location for the Government’s Essential Services Building”, as well as others that are fully underway and that will become a reality very soon, “such as the largest inclusive area in Tenerife in the Santa Catalina park , included in the 2024 Council budgets, or the completion of the Mental Disability Care Center.”
