The Canarian Institute of Hemodonation and Hemotherapy (ICHH), an autonomous entity under the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, is continuing its blood donation promotion campaign across the Canary Islands this week.
In Gran Canaria, during this week, a team from the Canarian Institute of Hemodonation and Hemotherapy will be present at the Siete Palmas Shopping Center on Pintor Felo Monzón Avenue. The team will be stationed in front of the main entrance of the shopping center. The operating hours are as follows: Monday – 9:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Thursday – 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Friday and Saturday – 9:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Moreover, on Monday, a team will be available for regular blood donors and relatives of patients at the donation room of Dr. Negrín University Hospital from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Furthermore, another mobile blood donation unit will be stationed at Las Arenas Shopping Center in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, on Rincón highway, s/n. Donations can be made on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Continuing with their educational campaigns, on Monday and Tuesday, a team will visit Los Llanos Early Childhood and Primary Education Center in the municipality of Santa Lucia. The visiting hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday and starting at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday.
In Telde, a blood donation point will be set up at Alcampo Shopping Center, near the Lottery Administration. Donors can visit on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.; Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Additionally, on Thursday 2nd, a donation campaign will take place at María Auxiliadora school in Telde from 9:15 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
In the northern area of Tenerife, on Monday and Tuesday, a donation point will be active at El Trompo de La Orotava Multicenter Shopping Center. The hours will be from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Additionally, ICHH will promote blood donation in San Cristóbal de La Laguna at Plaza de los Remedios on Obispo Rey Redondo Street. The operating hours will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday and 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
In Adeje, on Monday and Tuesday, the ICHH team will be stationed at Leroy Merlín on Avenida de Ayuntamiento, s/n. Service hours will be from 4:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. on Monday and 4:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday. There will also be a donation opportunity at the National Police Station on Monday from 9:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Another campaign will take place at the Las Torres Music School in Adeje on Thursday 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
Continuing with their educational campaigns, a team is scheduled to visit IES Benito Pérez Armas in Santa Cruz on Monday from 8:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and IES Teobaldo Power on Tuesday from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
In Puerto de la Cruz, on Tuesday 30th, the team will visit the Cesar Manrique Early Childhood and Primary Education Center from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. In San Cristóbal de La Laguna, on Monday 29th, a blood donation drive will be held at the Tejina adult education center from 4:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Lastly, on Thursday and Friday, a unit will be at the traditional Flower and Plant Fair in Santa Cruz. The mobile unit will be located next to the Strasse Park bar from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
OTHER ISLANDS
Next week, a mobile unit will go to the municipality of Tuineje where a blood donation campaign will take place on Monday and Tuesday at IES Vigan on El Palmeral Avenue. The extraction times will be from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday and 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Furthermore, on Thursday and Friday, the campaign will be held at IES Gran Tarajal from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Blood donations can also be made at the General Hospital of Fuerteventura on the airport road, kilometer 1, where the fixed blood donation point of the Canary Transfusion Network on the island is situated. This point will operate from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. To donate, appointments can be made by calling 928 546 684 (except on holidays).
On Lanzarote, blood donation promotion will take place at the Yacaomar Socio-Cultural Center in the municipality of Tinajo. Donations will be accepted on Monday from 4:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Thursday from 4:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Friday from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The fixed blood donation point of the Canary Transfusion Network remains operational at Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital on Tinajo highway, 2. Operating hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. except on holidays. Appointments can be made at 928 595 572 (option 3) or donors can walk in during operational hours.
Hospital Insular Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe on Calle El Larguero s/n has an extraction point where blood donations are accepted from Monday to Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling 922 140 200 or 922 140 213.
Hospital Insular Nuestra Señora de los Reyes on 1 Barriales Street has a fixed collection point where walk-in donations are accepted on Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling 690886059 during work hours Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
General University Hospital of La Palma on Buenavista de Arriba Street in Breña Alta has a fixed extraction point where donations can be made with or without an appointment. Operating hours are Monday to Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturdays closed, and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Telephone numbers 922 185 321 and 922 185 320 are available for donors and users.
To donate blood, individuals must be between eighteen and 65 years old (up to sixty years old for first-time donors), weigh over fifty kilos, be in good general health, and not pregnant.
