He Criminal Court Number 1 of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has condemned four men and a woman by attack several national police officers that provided service in the lagoon leisure area popularly known as the Quadrilateralin events that took place in the early morning of March 1, 2022.
According to the ruling, which is final (there is no appeal), said court has ruled in favor of the Prosecutor’s Office and the complaining agents, appearing as a private prosecution under the representation of the lawyer Ángeles Padilla. Since the five defendants have confessed to being the perpetrators of various crimes of injury (both serious and minor) and attacks against authority, the penalties that apply to them are both custodial and financial.
Thus, for the crime of attack, each one receives a sentence of six months in prison; For the two crimes of injuries, each person is subject to a total fine of three euros per day for 12 months, and for the six crimes of minor injuries, another total fine of three euros per day for six months.

In this regard, the spokesperson for the Spanish Police Confederation (CEP), José Luis Gallardo, highlighted “the importance of not going unpunished for these attacks on some officials who, as has been proven, intervened to stop a violent fight between a few “which took place in the middle of a crowd.”
