Councilor Gloria Méndez (PSOE) points out that this service “starts from the idea that La Colmena is a comprehensive support resource for all of society, covering each age group and their needs. After consulting students and teachers, the need to have these support classes with qualified teachers, personalized and adapted to each student, was raised.
This service, which is taught for two days in each school in the afternoon, is divided into groups according to the school year, with a maximum of 7 students to “guarantee attention to the particularities of each student and respect for sanitary measures.” During the first week of exercise, support has focused on homework help and on identifying those knowledge or skills in which they have the greatest difficulty. Likewise, a program is being developed that prioritizes the promotion of reading, mathematical calculation or the learning of the second language, “always in coordination with the teaching team of each center.”
The service includes games to promote attention, concentration and memory, as well as activities for special dates such as Los Santitos or Christmas. “This support service still has places available, so that any interested party can enjoy this free resource by consulting with the teachers themselves or by calling the Rambler Consistory”, concludes the mayor. The mayor, Ezequiel Domínguez (PSOE), highlights “the importance of the City Council developing an employment program such as La Colmena, one of the few aimed exclusively at promoting and developing the social economy of the municipality.”
