SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 11 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The general secretary of the PSOE Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, has stated that he trusts that the Canary Islands Coalition (CC) will finally join the yes to the investiture of Pedro Sánchez because “if the priority is the Canary Islands, let’s work on it.”
This was stated during a meeting that took place this Wednesday in Madrid with María Jesús Montero, Minister of Finance, Deputy Secretary General of the PSOE and member of the negotiating committee for the investiture of Pedro Sánchez.
Given the assessments made by the president of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, about an amnesty “of which not even any text is known”, Torres has been forceful: “If the priority is the Canary Islands, let the Canary Islands issues be demonstrated and defended” .
The Canarian socialist leader believes that now there will be days of diverse approaches and admitted that he shares many points of the document delivered by CC to the PSOE, “a Canarian agenda that can be negotiated and that we can improve,” he added.
Torres has assured that the coordination between the regional and the federal is complete to achieve the investiture of Sánchez: “We have shared the need to join forces to have in Spain a progressive government that defends the Canary Islands and that walks in social justice, as stated. has done in the last four years,” he added.
The general secretary of the PSOE Canarias insisted on the importance of having a government, having budgets for 2024 and continuing to work throughout the country on advances such as support for pensioners, scholarship holders, the fight against sexist violence, decentralization of the administration or the defense of autonomies.
