The Town Hall of candlemas launches, for the fourth consecutive year, the Homework Club project. It is an initiative that offers School support for Compulsory Secondary Education students (THAT) and that contributes to “guaranteeing equal opportunities” among the students of the municipality of that academic level. On this occasion, the municipal Corporation contemplates an investment of 15,000 euros.
During the course that is being developed, this proposal is taught, which starts from the Social Services and Education areas of the Candelaria City Council. This student support registered in Villa Mariana will benefit those families whose economic circumstances do not allow them to face this expense privately.
The councilors Olivia Pérez and Maeva Tendero, responsible for Social Services and Education, emphasize the relevance of the Homework Club. Both explain that through this action “learning and school performance are enhanced”. Likewise, “curricular concepts are strengthened in an individualized way and study habits.”
One of the aspects that is emphasized is that “it ensures that the participating students reach the basic training objectivesfor which the necessary support is provided so that the recipients reach an “adequate degree of acquisition of fundamental skills”.
Individually, learning, study habits and performance are enhanced
The municipal government appeals to those families who are interested in Join the Homework Club so that they can be addressed by email to the Department of Education ([email protected]) or by phone 922500800, at extension 1104.
The Candelariero Homework Club aims to support the study outside school hours for students residing and registered in the municipality who attend the four levels of Compulsory Secondary Education of the Santa Ana and Punta Larga institutes. All this in coordination with the teachers of the aforementioned educational centers to guide the educational support mainly in instrumental subjects, such as Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, Natural Sciences, Biology and Geology and English. Families participate in this project through tutorials to monitor the beneficiary students.
The municipal government of Candelaria launched this initiative during the 2019-2020 school year.
