SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 21 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) has granted, charged to the General State Budget for 2022, a subsidy of five million euros to the Government of the Canary Islands for actions to improve access to and exit from the port of Los Cristianos towards the TF-1 motorway, in the municipality of Arona (Tenerife).
The financed actions are the result of a study carried out for the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Port Authority in 2018, through which a series of small and medium-range action proposals were made to improve the exit from the port of Los Cristianos to the TF-1 motorway.
These proposals try to guarantee two exit lanes on the entire itinerary and provide the main junctions with at least one free lane (without yielding of right-of-way) on the entire itinerary.
Thus, the proposals modeled and verified were the following: conditioning of the roundabout on Avenida La Habana with the Espigón del Benchijigua –proposed by the Arona City Council to obtain two exit lanes–; increase to two lanes from Avenida La Habana towards highway TF-1; conditioning of the roundabout between Avenida La Habana and Avenida Finlandia (a segregated lane); underpass and remodeling of the Avenida Chayofita roundabout –underpass under the roundabout and segregated lanes to the right– and remodeling of the south roundabout of the TF-1 junction (conversion into a turboroundabout).
