The conditioning of the surface car park that will be located on the site that remained after the demolition of the one known as tome will start in January. This was announced to DIARIO DE AVISOS by the Councilor for Public Services, Carlos Tarife, who pointed out that “at the moment we already have the file in the legal department, so, shortly, we will begin the asphalting of the Las Teresitas car park, which has about 300 places, and for which use is not going to be charged”.
As detailed by Tarife, “taking into account that the remodeling work on El Dique street, in front of San Andrés, will begin at the end of the year, this car park will come in handy to accommodate the spaces that are affected by the work.” The mayor calculates that this space will be ready at the end of February. “It will be an important milestone, just like that of another car park, this one on Juan Albornoz Sombrita street, in Ofra, which with 70 spaces will serve both the residents and the La Candelaria Hospital.”
The site of the tome will make available to residents and users 259 places for light vehicles, 29 for motorcycles, seven for vehicles for people with reduced mobility, four modules of 6 places for bicycles, in addition to another one for the Local Police or Emergencies. It will also be equipped with lighting with 35 light points.
Parking lots
On the other hand, the mayor recalled that the process of regularizing the rates and canon of the city’s public car parks is continuing. Thus, in addition to the Puente Serrador car park, the first to be ordered to lower rates, after completing the administrative procedure, the Stadium car park and the El Pilar street car park have also been notified to proceed with the lowering of prices. Everyone is given a month to execute the measures. “Once the 30 days are up, we will send inspectors to check if the rate has been lowered, and if not, we will initiate a sanctioning process,” said the mayor.
Tarife added that “we are not going to allow car parks to continue charging at gold prices and above those stipulated.”
With regard to the possibility of setting up more surface car parks, the mayor pointed out that “for the time being, the closest is the lot on El Toscal street that has been bought to set it up before the works on La Rosa street begin. We are awaiting the Town Planning report”.
