The City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, through the Autonomous Organism for Festivities and Recreational Activities (OAFAR), presents the 10 works that opt to become the poster of the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife 2023and that they will be submitted to a popular voting process on-line Starting this Thursday, the 29th.
For the mayor of the city, José Manuel Bermúdez “this is the first milestone of Carnival 2023, which begins to take its steps with great enthusiasm, since we recover the dates and spaces that correspond to it by tradition”, and added “a year Furthermore, the affection and artistic dedication of dozens of people from different geographical points who aspire to be part of our history is appreciated.”
The Councilor for Fiestas, Alfonso Cabello encourages “active participation” in the voting process that will open in www.carnavaldetenerife.com and that it will be active until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, because “it is not just the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival poster, but a business card that will reach many millions of people around the world” .
This preselection, with a weight of 60% in the final assessment, was made by the art curator and director of the Westerdahl Museum, Celestino Celso Hernández; the presenter of Factoría de Carnaval, Domingo Hernández; the graphic designer and typography specialist, Lars Petter Amundsen; the graphic designer and professor of the Degree in Design at the ULL, Noa Real; and the graphic designer from Museos de Tenerife, Miriam Cruz.
The works submitted to the OAFAR until September 15 were submitted to the criteria of the technical-artistic jury that has selected the pieces with the highest plastic or artistic quality, as well as announcing effectiveness of this edition themed as “New York, the city that never sleep”.
The ten proposals that will be submitted to the popular vote, ordered according to their registration number in the OAFAR, are: ‘Don’t let the flame of fun go out’; ‘Carnival 4 Ever’; ‘Carnival is freedom’; ‘Carnival, the city that never sleeps’; ‘Traces of New York’; ‘Miss Liberty’; ‘Color Symphony’; ‘The mackerel of freedom’; ‘Liberty lighting up the world’; ‘Night of Carnival, shapes and colors’.
