The third vice-president and counselor of Social Action of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Marián Franquet, has met with representatives of the works council of the women workers of the Insular Service for Attention to Women (SIAM) of the Mundo Nuevo company and the USO union, to analyze and evaluate the services and care provided to women and minors who are victims of gender-based violence.
During the meeting, in which the Equality Coordinator of the Insular Institute of Social and Socio-Sanitary Care (IASS), María José Pestana, participated, the representatives of the workers conveyed the difficulties they face on a day-to-day basis and emphasized the delay in the collection of payroll.
In this sense, the also president of the IASS promised to make “the necessary efforts so that the payment to the company occurs in a timely manner and does not affect or disrupt its normality.”
During the meeting, the quality of the services provided to victims of gender violence in the network of offices that make up the Insular Service for Comprehensive Care and Specialized Intervention in Gender Violence was also analyzed, and value was placed on “the qualification and dedication of the workers that, in addition, has intensified with the covid situation”, indicated Franquet.
The insular official thanked the union representatives of the women workers for carrying out this joint analysis, and promised to continue working to expand and improve the offices, and with it, the attention to women and minors who are victims of gender-based violence. .
